Christmas Albums

We got trapped by the Christmas Album display at Best Buy the other day. Scott, can you shed light on the Twister Sister Christmas album?? I mean really, what were they thinking?

Also, I think each of you has the Peanuts Christmas album, which one is the original and which one is the best? Our Holiday music supply is very limited and we need a suggestion or two to beef it up!

I vote for Merry Axemas. It's great guitar gods playing all the standards. :)

Okay...the TS album. Look...if you're not already a TS fan, you're probably not going to buy it, or like it if you do. Since I AM a TS fan, though...hey, it rocks! What can I say? It's a full-on metal album, complete with heavy drums, guitar solos and thunderous choruses. I'm only sad that this (purportedly LAST) TS album is only really listenable for 4-5 weeks out of the year.

I have the original "A Charlie Brown Christmas" album, which is all I need. I think there has been a remaster, with some bonus tracks...I'd go for that one, if I was buying. My preference is for Vince Guaraldi, so I'm staying away from the one the Post Office is selling, which has a lot of covers.

Christmas album suggestions:

Shawn Colvin - good original Christmas music. In the folk genre.

Barbara Streisand's first xmas album.

Harry Connick, Jr. - no idea what it's called.

Personally my fave Christmas album would be Barenaked for the Holidays by none other than the Barenaked Ladies. Some classics (some close to their original form and some with a new spin), some chaunnukah songs (not Adam Sandler's), and some songs I'd never heard til I bought the album, but now like.
